We are currently seeking to add a Human Resources Administrator to our team in Savannah, TN. This position is responsible for for providing on-site human resources support at the manufacturing facility, ensuring alignment with company policies, procedures, and employment regulations. This position serves as the primary HR contact for plant employees and leadership, handling recruiting, employee relations, payroll coordination, and compliance activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for plant-level roles, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and pre-employment processes. Coordinate onboarding activities, including new hire orientation, completion of employment forms, and benefits enrollment assistance.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and resolving workplace issues in accordance with company policy and legal requirements. Support supervisors in performance management, coaching, and corrective action processes.
- Communicate, interpret, and enforce company policies and procedures. Lead or assist with investigations of policy violations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including I-9 verification, FMLA, ADA, and EEO requirements.
- Review and audit timecard reports for accuracy; resolve discrepancies in coordination with supervisors and the corporate payroll team. Ensure proper payroll deadlines are met and maintain confidentiality of payroll data.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files, training records, and HR databases. Prepare and submit required HR reports to corporate as needed.
- Coordinate training initiatives for plant staff, including safety, compliance, and skill development programs. Provide guidance to managers on employee coaching and development opportunities.
- Participate in plant leadership meetings, communicate HR updates, and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving retention, engagement, and workplace culture.
- Assist with HR-related projects and process improvements in partnership with the corporate HR team.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with employees and supervisors.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two (2) years of HR administrative experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
- Prior experience supporting plant or production operations preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to walk production areas, climb stairs, and be present on the plant floor as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
