Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Maintenance Technician-2nd shift to support our manufacturing operations at Bootz in Evansville, IN. This role is responsible for performing basic equipment maintenance, preventive tasks, and general facility repairs.

The Maintenance Technician-2nd shift helps ensure production lines remain safe, efficient, and reliable by assisting senior technicians and stepping in to handle routine maintenance needs. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and eager to grow within a collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Do

• Perform basic mechanical maintenance (belts, bearings, and part replacements).
• Assist in preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
• Support senior maintenance staff with repairs, installations, and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues to maintain production flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools.
• Report potential equipment issues or hazards to the Maintenance Manager.
• Complete accurate maintenance records, logs, and work orders.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Perform general facility upkeep, including lubrication, light repairs, and small installations.
• Assist with moving tools, equipment, or materials as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools.
• General knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to follow directions and complete work orders accurately.
• Good problem-solving skills for minor issues and adjustments.
• Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail.
• Team-oriented with good communication and collaboration skills.
• 1st and 2nd shift availability

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of maintenance, machine repair, or related experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures, noise levels, and around moving machinery.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times.
