Position Overview
The Digital Merchandising Specialist plays a key role in managing and optimizing the product experience across multiple direct-to-consumer ecommerce brands. This role is responsible for executing digital merchandising initiatives including product data management, content enhancement, category merchandising, and site optimization across platforms such as Magento, Shopify, and related ecommerce systems.
Working closely with the Experience team, marketing, and product teams, this role ensures product information is accurate, compelling, and optimized to drive product discovery, customer engagement, and conversion.
The ideal candidate combines strong attention to detail with analytical thinking and a deep understanding of ecommerce merchandising best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Product Content & Data Management
- Manage and maintain product information across ecommerce platforms including Magento, Shopify, and supporting systems.
- Upload and maintain product data, specifications, images, attributes, and product relationships.
- Ensure product listings meet content quality, SEO, and brand standards.
- Enhance product pages with improved descriptions, imagery, cross-sells, and merchandising features.
Category Merchandising & Product Discovery
- Support merchandising strategy across category pages, product collections, and featured product placements.
- Optimize category structure, product sorting, filters, and attribute tagging to improve product discovery.
- Assist with merchandising campaigns, product launches, and seasonal promotions.
- Maintain and update collection pages and product groupings based on merchandising priorities.
Content Optimization
- Identify opportunities to enhance product and category content to improve customer understanding and conversion.
- Work with the Experience and creative teams to implement enhanced content modules, lifestyle imagery, and cross merchandising.
- Ensure consistent presentation of products across multiple brand websites.
Ecommerce Performance Analysis
- Analyze product and category performance using ecommerce analytics tools.
- Evaluate traffic, engagement, and conversion metrics to identify merchandising opportunities.
- Provide recommendations for improving product visibility, category structure, and content effectiveness.
- Monitor site merchandising performance and assist with A/B testing or optimization initiatives.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, design, and product teams to support product launches and campaigns.
- Coordinate with technical teams on ecommerce platform updates and merchandising tools.
- Ensure merchandising initiatives align with brand positioning and overall customer experience goals.
Qualifications
Required
- 2–4+ years experience in ecommerce merchandising, product content management, or digital merchandising
- Experience working with ecommerce platforms such as Magento, Shopify, or similar systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of product data
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret ecommerce performance metrics
- Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and product data management
- Understanding of SEO principles for product and category pages
Preferred
- Experience with PIM systems, product feed management, or digital asset management
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, GA4, or ecommerce analytics tools
- Experience working with multi-brand ecommerce environments
- Basic understanding of UX or conversion optimization principles
