Manufacturing Associate – Fiberglass Production

MAAX Bath, part of American Bath Group (ABG), is actively hiring Manufacturing Associates for multiple production roles within our fiberglass manufacturing operation. Available Production Roles

We are hiring across several fiberglass manufacturing departments, including:

  • Chopper Gun Operators
  • Fiberglass Rollers
  • Lamination Associates
  • General Production Associates
  • Mold Preparation Associates
  • Finishing & Trimming Associates

Team members may be cross-trained in multiple areas depending on production needs and experience level.

Position Summary

Manufacturing Associates support the production of fiberglass bathware products including bathtubs, showers, surrounds, and enclosures. Daily responsibilities may include operating spray equipment, fiberglass application, mold preparation, rolling laminate, trimming products, inspecting quality, and maintaining production equipment.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role requiring attention to detail, consistency, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Primary ResponsibilitiesGeneral Manufacturing Duties

  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations, tools, and equipment
  • Support daily production goals and quality standards
  • Perform quality inspections throughout the production process
  • Communicate production or equipment concerns to supervisors or leads
  • Assist in multiple production areas as needed
  • Help minimize downtime and maintain production flow

Fiberglass Spray / Chopper Gun Operator Duties

  • Operate chop gun equipment to apply fiberglass and resin materials
  • Check catalyst levels, hoses, filters, spray tips, and equipment before operation
  • Monitor catalyst flow and spray patterns during production
  • Adjust spray equipment for proper glass dispersion and application consistency
  • Apply fiberglass materials using approved spray patterns and application methods
  • Maintain correct spray distance and overlap patterns for proper coverage
  • Prevent overspray and maintain weight/stroke count targets
  • Clean spray equipment after each production cycle
  • Inspect molds and products for defects before and after spraying

Lamination & Rolling Responsibilities

  • Roll laminate smoothly and tightly to mold surfaces using laminate rollers
  • Remove trapped air from fiberglass laminate applications
  • Work detailed corners and radius areas using approved brush techniques
  • Ensure proper fiberglass wet-out and adhesion
  • Notify supervisors immediately of defects such as dry glass or missing coverage
  • Maintain product quality and surface consistency throughout the process

Finishing & Production Support Duties

  • Trim fiberglass products using hand and power tools
  • Inspect finished products for defects, cracks, or imperfections
  • Transport completed units to staging or storage areas
  • Maintain tools and report equipment maintenance concerns
  • Support continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives

QualificationsPreferred Experience

  • Manufacturing or production experience
  • Fiberglass, composites, or spray equipment experience preferred
  • Machine operation or industrial equipment experience
  • Construction, assembly, warehouse, or industrial labor background helpful

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and move throughout shifts lasting 8–10 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with fiberglass materials, resins, adhesives, dust, noise, and industrial equipment
  • PPE required and provided
