We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused DOT Delivery Driver to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are delivered accurately, safely, and professionally while supporting warehouse and distribution operations when not on delivery routes.

Position Summary

The DOT Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of customer orders, finished goods, and materials using company delivery vehicles. This role requires strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company safety standards, and customer service expectations.

In addition to delivery responsibilities, the driver will assist with warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory activities, material handling, and general facility support as business needs require.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles, including delivery vans and straight box trucks, in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Deliver products accurately and on schedule while providing professional customer service.
• Load, unload, secure, and transport products using lift gates, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain required delivery documentation, logs, inspection reports, and electronic records.
• Utilize GPS navigation systems, tablets, ELDs, and mobile applications to support route management and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Assist warehouse operations including order picking, shipping, receiving, inventory counts, housekeeping, and production support when delivery schedules allow.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch personnel, customers, and team members regarding schedules, delays, and operational issues.
• Support a positive, team-oriented work environment and assist in other operational areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of delivery driving experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to meet all DOT requirements applicable to the position.
• Strong understanding of safe driving practices and transportation regulations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accountability.

Preferred

• Experience in the glass, building products, construction materials, manufacturing, or distribution industries.
• Experience operating box trucks and utilizing electronic logging systems (ELDs).
• Warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and material handling activities.
• Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions while making deliveries and loading or unloading products.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, overtime, or occasional overnight routes as business demands require.
