Resin Mixer / Production Technician

Job Description

Position Summary

The Resin Mixer / Process Technician safely and consistently prepares resin materials and monitors the equipment used in the resin mixing and delivery system at Florestone’s Madera facility. The position works closely with Maintenance and Production to support material quality, equipment reliability, accurate documentation, and uninterrupted material availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare resin and filler batches according to approved formulas, specifications, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.

Monitor material levels, temperature, viscosity, flow, and overall condition; promptly identify and communicate abnormal conditions.

Monitor tanks, pumps, filters, agitators, hoses, valves, fittings, and related resin-transfer equipment for safe and reliable operation.

Enter batch information, material usage, inventory activity, and other required data into company systems; complete logs and documentation accurately and on time.

Maintain proper material identification, lot tracking, and traceability throughout the process.

Perform routine equipment inspections and approved light preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, filter changes, and minor adjustments, as trained and authorized.

Report equipment concerns promptly and assist Maintenance with troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and improvement projects as assigned.

Safely operate a forklift to move resin, filler, containers, materials, and supplies; maintain required company training and certification.

Follow all plant safety procedures, required PPE, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidance, chemical-handling practices, spill-prevention measures, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.

Maintain the resin-mixing area, equipment, hoses, tools, and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

Coordinate with Production and supervision to maintain adequate material supply and reduce production interruptions.

Participate in safety, quality, housekeeping, equipment-reliability, and continuous-improvement activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support safe and efficient plant operations.

Required Qualifications

Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company software and production systems.

Ability to follow formulas, written instructions, and standard operating procedures consistently.

Basic math skills involving weights, measurements, ratios, and quantities.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, timely documentation.

Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to recognize abnormal equipment or process conditions.

Ability to safely operate a forklift and complete company-required training and certification.

Dependable attendance, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work safely around industrial equipment, chemicals, and active production operations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods and may be required to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and perform other normal industrial activities. The employee must be able to work around resin, fillers, chemicals, tanks, pumps, forklifts, and production equipment and wear all required personal protective equipment.
