Praxis is hiring a dependable, hands-on Production Laborer – Spray & Finishing to join our manufacturing team in Ennis, Texas.

This is a full-time, onsite production opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will support the Spray and Finishing operation by preparing, finishing, inspecting, repairing, and handling bathware products throughout the production process. Depending on the workstation and your training, your work may include sanding, grinding, buffing, drilling, trimming, surface repair, touch-up, cleaning, inspection, and material handling.

If you have experience in manufacturing, general production, fiberglass or composite work, automotive bodywork, sanding, buffing, painting, finishing, repair, assembly, or hand and power tools, your background may transfer well to this position.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare bathware surfaces for finishing through cleaning, sanding, grinding, trimming, drilling, deburring, or other approved production processes.
• Identify and repair cosmetic or surface imperfections using approved patching, filling, sanding, buffing, polishing, repainting, or touch-up methods.
• Operate assigned hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment after required training and authorization.
• Use equipment that may include sanders, grinders, buffers, drills, routers, saws, spray or dispensing equipment, carts, fixtures, and lifting aids.
• Inspect finished and in-process products for scratches, cracks, chips, pinholes, rough edges, uneven surfaces, coating defects, color variation, and other quality concerns.
• Follow established work instructions, production standards, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and supervisor direction.
• Identify and report nonconforming products or materials and escalate safety or quality concerns when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate production, defect, rework, scrap, downtime, or other required records.
• Keep assigned work areas clean and organized and support established housekeeping and 5S practices.
• Communicate production status, material needs, quality issues, and workflow interruptions to supervisors and team members.
• Participate in onboarding, safety training, skills development, cross-training, and continuous-improvement activities.
• Work cooperatively with production, quality, maintenance, material handling, and other support teams.
• Perform other related production duties consistent with training, safety requirements, and business needs.

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, standard work procedures, safety rules, and quality requirements.
• Ability to perform basic counting and measurement and accurately record production information.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to identify and report quality concerns.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing production assignments and cross-training opportunities.
• Dependable attendance and ability to consistently work the assigned Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. schedule.
• Must meet the work authorization requirements for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, fiberglass or composite manufacturing, automotive bodywork, sanding, buffing, painting, repair, assembly, finishing, or a similar hands-on work environment.
• Experience using hand tools, pneumatic tools, or powered production or finishing equipment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education preferred.

Work Environment

This position is performed onsite in an active manufacturing environment around production machinery, moving materials, hand tools, power tools, and production workstations.

The work is hands-on, repetitive, and fast-paced and requires consistent attention to safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship.

Depending on the assigned workstation, employees may work around fiberglass or composite dust, coatings, resins, adhesives, repair compounds, solvents, vapors, odors, and other materials used in bathware manufacturing and finishing.

Employees are required to follow applicable safety procedures, engineering controls, and PPE requirements. Hearing protection or respiratory protection may be required in designated work areas when applicable.

6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

This is an onsite position in Ennis, Texas.

Compensation

Starting pay: $16.00 per hour

The position is also production bonus eligible.
