About the Role

MrSteam is hiring an Inventory Clerk to support the daily flow, organization, and availability of materials used in production. This hands-on, junior-level role works across inventory, warehouse, storage, and production-support areas and is focused on daily stocking, Kanban replenishment, monthly cycle counts, material movement, and accurate basic inventory transactions.

This role is designed to be trainable. Previous warehouse, stocking, inventory, or cycle-counting experience is preferred, but manufacturing and prior ERP experience are not required.

What You Will Do

• Stock production areas daily and replenish Kanban, point-of-use, and assigned inventory locations to help prevent material shortages.
• Coordinate with production personnel on immediate material needs and stocking priorities.
• Move materials between inventory, storage, overflow, and production areas using a pallet jack.
• Complete scheduled monthly cycle counts accurately and on time.
• Count inventory and report shortages, overages, incorrect locations, labeling issues, and other discrepancies.
• Maintain organized bins, shelves, racks, and storage areas in accordance with 5S expectations.
• Follow FIFO inventory practices and support barcode labels, inventory tags, and bin-location identification.
• Perform basic inventory transactions in the company ERP system and use barcode scanners and basic computer programs.
• Communicate inventory information to Inventory Management, Purchasing, and production personnel.
• Follow established safety, inventory-control, housekeeping, and material-handling procedures.

What We Are Looking For

• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn simple ERP and barcode processes.
• Strong attention to detail when working with quantities, labels, locations, and inventory records.
• Ability to follow stocking, cycle-counting, FIFO, 5S, and safety procedures.
• Reliable communication and follow-through in a production-support environment.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

Helpful Experience

• Warehouse, stocking, inventory, or cycle-counting experience.
• Knowledge of Lean, 5S, FIFO, or general warehouse-management practices.
• Pallet-jack, barcode-scanner, or inventory-labeling experience.
• Spanish language capability is a plus but is not required.

Schedule, Location, and Pay

Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Location: MrSteam, Long Island City, Queens, NY

Compensation: $22.00 per hour

Reporting Relationship: Inventory Supervisor

Physical and Work Environment

• This is a consistently physical role performed in inventory, warehouse, storage, and production-support areas.
• Regular standing and walking during stocking and inventory activities.
• Regular bending, reaching, grasping, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
• Lifting and handling materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Repetitive stocking, counting, and material-handling activities throughout the workday.
• Safe movement of materials using a pallet jack.
• Required PPE must be worn where applicable; MrSteam provides steel-toe safety boots.

Training and Tools

MrSteam provides role-specific training on inventory locations, daily stocking and Kanban replenishment, monthly cycle counts, basic ERP and barcode processes, FIFO, 5S, pallet-jack use, and applicable safety / PPE and discrepancy-reporting procedures.
