Manufacturing Supervisor – Utile Manufacturing | First Shift
AKER by MAAX | An American Bath Group Company
Location: Martinsburg, WV | Onsite
Schedule: First Shift | Approximately 4:30 AM – 3:15 PM
Position Type: Full-Time | Salaried, Exempt
Lead the Team. Own the Shift. Make an Impact.
Are you a hands-on manufacturing leader who knows how to keep production moving, build trust with employees, and solve problems before they become bigger issues?
AKER by MAAX, part of American Bath Group, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our Utile manufacturing team in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
This is an opportunity for a dependable, people-focused leader who enjoys being on the production floor, developing employees, and driving consistent results.
You'll lead an established first-shift team of approximately 16–18 employees producing Utile wall-kit components. Our operation has defined processes, quality standards, and production expectations already in place. We're looking for someone who can build on that foundation, strengthen daily execution, and identify practical improvements.
If you take pride in running a strong shift, supporting your team, and delivering results, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
As our Production Supervisor, you'll take ownership of daily production performance while creating an environment where employees understand expectations, work together, and take pride in their results.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead from the floor: Direct, coach, and support approximately 16–18 production employees throughout the shift.
- Drive production performance: Coordinate daily activities to maintain output, labor productivity, and established quality standards.
- Solve problems in real time: Respond to equipment interruptions, staffing challenges, and production bottlenecks with practical solutions.
- Partner with Maintenance: Communicate equipment concerns promptly and work closely with technical teams to minimize downtime.
- Develop a versatile team: Strengthen cross-training so critical production areas remain covered when staffing needs change.
- Maintain quality and consistency: Reinforce standard work, monitor material usage, and ensure product specifications are followed.
- Use production data effectively: Monitor hourly production, labor efficiency, and quality information to make informed decisions.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions: Coordinate with second-shift leadership to communicate production priorities, issues, and follow-up needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve: Recommend practical changes that strengthen efficiency without compromising product quality.
What Success Looks Like
We believe effective leadership should produce measurable results.
In this role, you'll help sustain established operating expectations, including:
- Maintaining production performance of approximately 125 pieces per shift.
- Supporting the operating goal of less than 3% downtime through effective coordination and response.
- Maintaining labor productivity across production and finished operations.
- Keeping materials and finished products within established quality specifications.
- Building sufficient cross-training coverage to maintain production continuity.
Success isn't simply hitting a number. It's creating a reliable, well-coached team that consistently delivers quality work.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in your ability to lead people, take ownership, and make sound decisions—not simply how many years you've held a supervisor title.
The ideal candidate brings:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate frontline employees.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to establish trust while holding employees accountable.
- A hands-on approach to daily production leadership.
- Sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills when priorities change.
- The ability to manage multiple production demands while maintaining quality.
- Dependability, initiative, and a commitment to following through.
- The ability to work onsite during the established early first-shift schedule.
Experience that will help you succeed:
- Previous manufacturing or production supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with standard work, production metrics, and labor productivity.
- Experience coordinating with Maintenance during equipment interruptions.
- Exposure to manufacturing quality controls and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar manufacturing systems.
Experience in bathware manufacturing is a plus, but it is not required. We value transferable manufacturing leadership experience and the ability to learn.
Why Join AKER by MAAX?
This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on an established manufacturing operation.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Take meaningful ownership of daily production and team performance.

- Develop your people through coaching, training, and clear expectations.
- Make practical improvements that influence output, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate across departments with Maintenance, Quality, and plant leadership.
- Contribute to a larger organization as part of American Bath Group.
We're looking for someone who understands that great manufacturing leadership is built on consistency, accountability, adaptability, and respect.
