Aquatic Bathware, part of American Bath Group, is seeking a Fiberglass Roller to join our manufacturing operation in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

This hands-on production role supports the structural reinforcement of bathware products by using fiberglass consolidation rollers to work wet fiberglass and resin into product contours, remove trapped air and visible bubbles, improve fiber wet-out, and prepare the laminate for reinforcement, inspection, and cure.

The position requires attention to detail, consistent technique, safe chemical-handling practices, and the ability to work efficiently within a timed production process.

What You’ll Do

• Confirm the product model, assigned rolling zone, production sequence, roller type, and current work instructions before beginning work.
• Inspect the workstation, rollers, ventilation, hoses, floors, fixtures, and required PPE.
• Begin the rolling process within the required application window while the fiberglass and resin remain workable.
• Use controlled roller pressure, angle, stroke, overlap, and sequencing to properly consolidate wet fiberglass.
• Remove visible bubbles and entrapped air.
• Work resin through dry or partially wetted fiberglass according to established plant procedures.
• Thoroughly roll corners, radii, flanges, ledges, transitions, drain areas, vertical walls, edges, and other critical product geometry.
• Identify dry glass, bridging, wrinkles, trapped air, contamination, exposed fibers, poor contact, displaced reinforcement, and other laminate irregularities.
• Coordinate with resin and fiberglass application operators when additional or corrected material is needed.
• Correct defects within training and process limits while the laminate remains workable.
• Escalate defects that cannot be corrected within established limits.
• Maintain fiberglass rollers and detail rollers according to approved cleaning, storage, exchange, and disposal procedures.
• Complete required production, quality, material, defect, downtime, traveler, or related documentation.
• Maintain housekeeping and properly follow spill, chemical, and waste-handling requirements.
• Communicate recurring laminate problems or unusual material behavior that may indicate a broader manufacturing process issue.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to follow standardized work, visual work instructions, production schedules, safety rules, and quality specifications.
• Ability to identify visible and tactile laminate defects and communicate abnormalities promptly.
• Ability to learn timed fiberglass rolling patterns and perform them consistently.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work the assigned plant schedule and required production overtime.
• Ability to perform prolonged standing and repetitive hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder activities.
• Ability to frequently bend, twist, and reach as part of the production process.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in any of the following is preferred:

• Fiberglass or composites manufacturing.
• Plastics or bathware manufacturing.
• Marine manufacturing or repair.
• Autobody work.
• Paint or coating operations.
• Wet layup processes.
• Fiberglass rolling.
• Resin systems or chopped-strand fiberglass.
• Reinforcement placement.
• Composite defect recognition.
• Other hands-on manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements

The Fiberglass Roller position involves:

• Prolonged standing throughout the assigned shift.
• Continuous or frequent rolling, gripping, wrist rotation, pushing, pulling, and arm and shoulder movement.
• Frequent reaching across large products.
• Bending and twisting.
• Occasional kneeling or crouching.
• Sustained light-to-moderate hand and arm force during fiberglass rolling.
• Manual handling of rollers, reinforcement materials, tools, and related production items.
• Repetitive physical activity in a production-paced process.

Team or mechanical assistance must be used whenever an item exceeds established safe individual handling limits.

Work Environment

This role works in an indoor composite-manufacturing environment that may include:

• Wet fiberglass and resin materials.
• Fiberglass strands or dust.
• Resin-related vapors or odors.
• Adjacent trimming or grinding dust.
• Molds, carts, conveyors, hoses, and production equipment.
• Noise.
• Seasonal heat, humidity, cold, and changing temperatures.

Employees must follow applicable ventilation, engineering controls, machine guarding, spill controls, chemical-handling procedures, safe-work practices, and PPE requirements.

Safety and PPE

Required PPE and safety controls depend on plant requirements and task-specific hazard assessments and may include:

• Safety glasses with side protection.
• Safety-toe, slip-resistant footwear.
• Chemical-resistant gloves.
• Protective sleeves or clothing.
• Hearing protection.
• Splash goggles or face protection where required.
• Respiratory protection only when selected and required under the site’s written respiratory-protection program.

Employees may use only chemicals, tools, equipment, lift assists, and powered machinery for which required training and authorization have been completed.
